At NCRF- NJINSKY Cellular Research Foundation, we aim to bring life-changing hope to those in need. As Pakistan’s first organization offering free stem cell treatments, our mission is to make advanced medical therapies accessible to patients suffering from autism, diabetes, kidney failure, cerebral palsy, and chronic conditions. 1940s

The Beginning

The journey that led to the creation of the NJINKSY Foundation is deeply rooted in over six decades of dedicated service to humanity. It all began with the visionary leadership of Professor Dr. Ramzan Ali Syed, whose contributions to healthcare started in the 1940s. Dr. Syed, the first professor of Ophthalmology at King Edward Medical College in Lahore (now a world-renowned university), was a trailblazer in the field of ophthalmology. His pioneering efforts, including the first demonstration of Disseminated Sclerosic in South Asia and the successful performance of the first corneal transplant in the subcontinent, revolutionized eye care.

1960

Relentless Commitment

Dr. Ramzan Ali Syed didn’t stop at medical breakthroughs; his legacy extended to education and patient care. In 1960, he founded a private hospital in Lahore, which evolved into a general hospital trusted by thousands across the country. His relentless commitment to advancing medical technology led to the establishment of a hospital that became synonymous with quality and compassion. In the years ahead, this institution became a beacon of hope for those in need of medical care.

21st Century

A New Legacy Begins

In the 21st century, Professor Dr. Mahmood Shaukat, a pioneer in stem cell treatment in Pakistan, continued to honor this legacy. In 2017, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Shaukat launched the Ramzan Ali Syed Stem Cell Centre in Lahore, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to regenerative medicine. It was here that stem cell treatment, a revolutionary advancement in modern medicine, became accessible to the people of Pakistan.

Foundations in Research

Prof. Dr. Mahmood Shaukat's contributions to the field of regenerative medicine began with his groundbreaking work at King Edward Medical University, where he established Pakistan's first dedicated stem cell laboratory. This lab was a major milestone in the country’s healthcare landscape, marking the beginning of a new era for regenerative treatments. His work at King Edward Medical University and Allama Iqbal Medical University, laid the foundation for advancing stem cell research and therapy in Pakistan. Building on this success, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Shaukat expanded his efforts by establishing another stem cell lab at Jinnah Hospital, one of the largest and most renowned public healthcare institutions in Lahore. Here, he continued his pioneering work, providing cutting-edge stem cell therapies and further cementing his role as a leader in the field.

THE NJINSKY EMERGES

As time passed, the vision for providing hope and healing expanded further. The NJINKSY Medical Centre, which grew out of the Ramzan Ali Syed hospital, was established to focus on the advancement of stem cell treatments, ensuring that these cutting-edge therapies reached a wider population. This expansion represented a new era for healthcare in Pakistan.

2025

A New Chapter

In 2025, the next major step came when the NCRF-NJINSKY Cellular Research Foundation was founded under visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahmood Shaukat. This was not just a continuation of Ramzan Ali Syed’s medical legacy; it marked the dawn of a new chapter in the history of Pakistan’s healthcare system. The foundation’s primary mission became clear: to provide free stem cell treatments to those who could not afford them. This new initiative was a natural extension of the core values held by Prof. Dr. Ramzan Ali Syed and Prof. Dr. Mahmood Shaukat- innovation, education, and above all, a deep commitment to serving humanity.

2025

A Legacy Fulfilled

Today, the NJINKSY Foundation stands as an icon of hope and healing. It carries forward the legacy of two generations of doctors who, through their dedication to cutting-edge medical advancements and compassionate approach, have made significant strides in healthcare. The NRCF, also incorporated in Canada, plays a key role in supporting and expanding this mission beyond borders.
